I would also check out the Gulfport/Biloxi, MS area. My brother is sub-contracting out there laying carpet, tile & drywall and making 3x's what he makes in Jacksonville. He's being paid by licensed contractors for big companies, not charging himself (or gouging).

Take a ride to the city and the surrounding communities. There are tons of signs around of businesses looking to hire. WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO REBUILD OUR COMMUNITIES!
